A Look at the Team's Strengths and Weaknesses
Point Guards
The Celtics have a solid group of point guards led by Marcus Smart. Smart is a defensive stalwart and a good passer, but he can be streaky from the field. Payton Pritchard is a good backup option, but he is more of a scorer than a playmaker.
Shooting Guards
The Celtics have a lot of depth at shooting guard. Jaylen Brown is a rising star and one of the best young players in the league. Malcolm Brogdon is a veteran who can provide scoring and defense. Derrick White is a good defender and a solid shooter.
Small Forwards
The Celtics are a bit thin at small forward. Jayson Tatum is the team's superstar, but he is more of a power forward than a small forward. Grant Williams is a good defender, but he is not much of a scorer.
Power Forwards
The Celtics have a lot of size and athleticism at power forward. Al Horford is a veteran who can provide leadership and defense. Robert Williams III is a young player with a lot of potential.
Centers
The Celtics have a solid group of centers led by Joel Embiid. Embiid is one of the best players in the league and he is a force on both ends of the court. Montrezl Harrell is a good backup option, but he is more of a scorer than a rebounder.
Overall
The Celtics have a lot of talent on their roster, but they also have some weaknesses. They need to find a way to improve their depth at small forward and they need to get more consistent from the field. If they can do that, they have the potential to be a contender for the NBA championship.
