Eden Golan Selected Through National Selection Competition

'Hurricane' Singer to Represent Israel in Malmö, Sweden

The Israel Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) has announced that Eden Golan will represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, Sweden. Golan was selected through a national selection competition, "HaShir Shelanu L'Eurovizion" ('Our Song for Eurovision'), which culminated in a live grand final on February 13, 2024.

Golan, 22, is a popular singer and actress in Israel. She rose to fame after winning the fourth season of the Israeli singing competition "The X Factor" in 2014. Since then, she has released several successful singles and albums, and has represented Israel at international singing competitions such as the Baltic Song Contest and the Shanghai Music Festival.

Golan's Eurovision entry, "Hurricane," is a powerful and energetic ballad that showcases her vocal prowess and charismatic stage presence. The song was written by Golan herself, along with Doron Medalie and Idan Reichert, who have previously written songs for other Israeli Eurovision representatives.

Israel has a strong track record at the Eurovision Song Contest, having won the competition four times (in 1978, 1979, 1998, and 2018). Golan's selection as Israel's representative has generated a lot of excitement and anticipation among Eurovision fans, and she is considered one of the early favorites to win the 2024 contest.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will be held in Malmö, Sweden, from May 14 to 18. A total of 39 countries will participate in the competition, which will be broadcast live to an estimated audience of over 180 million viewers worldwide.
